I have been tutoring since I was a sophmore in college. I have tutored algebra, trigonometry, calculus, general science, chemistry, and physics.

I take great pride in helping students improve their understanding and mastery of the material. My approach is friendly and casual but I take my work seriously and genuinely love helping people learn about mathematics and science.

Thank you for your consideration. I look forward to working with you.

Calculus,

Calculus

I studied Calculus I, II, and III at Stockton University. In addition, I studied Mathematical Methods for Physics which dealt with advanced areas of Calculus including complex functions, Fourier series, and partial differential equations. I have a minor in Mathematics. I have tutored Calculus for over 10 years and have had great feedback from students. My emphasis in tutoring Calculus is on clarity and developing in students the ability to visualize concepts. My goal is to bring this seemingly difficult subject down to Earth and build students' skills and confidence.

Test Preparation

TEAS,

TEAS

I have tutored students in the TEAS before, and have had success in helping them. Although I've not taken the test, I am very familiar with it, and it bears some resemblance to the Praxis test which I took to become a certified teacher in the state of New Jersey. I also think my high scores in both the SAT and the GRE make me well suited to tutor the TEAS.

great teacher!

This was my first lesson and doing problems one on one really helped! I was struggling with derivatives and now I understand them very well.

John was very patient and knowledgeable.

He helped me with Statistics and SPSS and discussion questions for my class. He was very nice and understanding when I was lost on the assignment task. I would recommend him to anyone who needs a tutor.

Helpful Math review for SAT

John recently met with my son to go over math for his recent SAT math scores. After just one lesson my son was able to get a handle on things. We will have John come back again closer to the SAT'a but John was by far one of the best teachers that my son has had. He was patient and thorough. All in just one lesson my son was able to really get a handle on what he was taught years ago. John is a great teacher. Definitely 5 stars plus.

Super organized

John sent pretest to sort out what concepts needed to be retaught. He seems quite focused on getting to the root of the problem versus just practicing skills.

Knowledgeable and Patient Tutor

John P. is the best tutor I have had the experience of working with. Knowledgeable in all mathematics subjects, patient and thoroughly explains problems to ensure the student completely understands and can move forward working independently.
