Chemistry is really not so hard as it first appears. To help my students, there are a few key concepts that I pass along that clarify and simplify the problem sets that they face. In some cases, it is a matter of being able to express a problem in mathematical terms. In others it is being able to visualize exactly what happens in a reaction. After being pointed in the right direction, and with a little practice, most any student can excel in chemistry.

Chemistry is really not so hard as it first appears. To help my students, there are a few key concepts that I pass along that clarify and simplify the problem sets that they face. In some cases, it is a matter of being able to express a problem in mathematical terms. In others it is being able to visualize exactly what happens in a reaction. After being pointed in the right direction, and with a little practice, most any student can excel in chemistry.

After a 15 year career in chemistry, I now primarily practice Acupuncture. I still love the subject, and enjoy tutoring students in Organic and General Chemistry as well as Biology.

I have been teaching off and on since I was in graduate school. As a teaching fellow at Boston University, I let discussion sections and laboratory sections. I worked through problem sets with the students, and went over concepts from classroom discussions. When I was earning a Master of Oriental Medicine degree from New England School of Acupuncture, I tutored my classmates that were working through Organic and General Chemistry prerequisite classes.

Most recently, I have tutored high school and college students in the Boston area. I always enjoyed working with students, and hopefully some of my enthusiasm for the subject has rubbed off.

At present, my time is split between my acupuncture practice and working with students, tutoring Organic and General Chemistry as well as Biology. I'm fortunate to have found these professions that I enjoy so much.

I was also fortunate to have a rewarding 15 year career in chemistry. After graduating from BU, I worked at Polaroid Corporation. There I helped develop a new film system involving all organic components. It was intended to work with digital photograph printers which were new at the time. I then spent quite a while in a start-up company called Supercritical Combustion Corporation. There I helped develop and formulate a diesel based fuel that burned very cleanly. Having graduated, I spent a 15 year professional career as a synthetic organic chemist. I tutored organic chemistry as a prerequisite class in 2006 to 2009 to New England School of Acupuncture Students. Excellent and Knowledgeable Tutor!

My son has been struggling in Organic Chemistry class in his second year in college. He received "A's" in all his classes except Organic Chemistry. He got a failing grade on his first Organic Chemistry exam. He was extremely worried and frustrated. I reached out to Kevin for his help. Kevin has tutored my son in Chemistry in high school. He is very flexible, patient, knowledgeable, so easy to understand, and always prepared for the lesson. My son is very comfortable with Kevin. I was very grateful that Kevin was willing to teach my son again. After two weeks of intense lessons with Kevin, my son's grade has improved on his second exam. He took a few more lessons with Kevin and received an "A" on his third exam. We should have reached out to Kevin sooner. We truly appreciate the time Kevin spent helping my son increase his Organic Chemistry score. We will definitely be using Kevin next semester for his Organic Chemistry II.
