I have always loved being able to assist students who need that "Ah-ha!" moment when facing a difficult subject, especially in English, literature, and reading.
I have my BA in English and am currently earning my BA in English Literature. I have successful organization skills and am able to use many different approaches when teaching a student.
For the last 8 years, I have worked as a Teacher's Assistant at a private child care center, mainly working with children between the ages of 4 and 6 with a focus on reading and writing. That being said, I have learned to keep my patience (all while having FUN) while helping students complete their work.
I definitely work better 1-on-1, but I work well with small groups also!
I have the most experience in Literature and a love of grammar, proofreading, and writing. I take my years of experience and my passion for the English language to fuel my love of teaching and tutoring.
I work Monday-Friday in Pelham, NH until 6:00 at the latest. I have most weekends off. I am more than willing to negotiate a time that would work for both of us! I have always loved being able to assist students who need that "Ah-ha!" moment when facing a difficult subject, especially in English, literature, and reading.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
