I've been asked "why on earth did you get a degree in Religious Studies," conservatively, 12 million times :) And my answer has always been that I simply have a passion for it. I've studied world religion, with my primary coursework covering everything from Christianity and Judaism to Islam, Sikhism and even cult classics like the People's Temple.
Hopefully I'll hear from you soon to set up our first session, I'm happy to help in any of the subjects noted - and even more! Feel free to message me to chat about an action plan to achieve in your studies! I have experience both at the high school and undergraduate collegiate level. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I hold an MS in Corporate and Organizational Communications from Northeastern University, a degree with coursework that had a great mix of traditional business coursework, organizational psychology and communications. In my role as an HR Business Partner, I spend my days linking corporate business strategy to the needs of employees and offering perspective on the communication and psychological needs of the workforce impacted by business decisions.
I have more than five years of experience working as an HR and Recruitment professional. In addition to my work experience I hold both PHR and SHRM-CP certifications, industry must have's for top HR professionals. I also have experience in one-on-one career development assistance, doing side consulting in addition to my full-time job.
I hold a bachelor's degree in Religious Studies from Saint Michael's College. While pursuing my bachelor's degree I was approached by my adviser to tutor through our college tutoring center, which I greatly enjoyed doing for 3 years. My tutoring style for religion is to help students understand bigger picture concepts before delving deeply in to their specific question or assignment. My personal approach to religious studies coursework is to examine it as history with a literary spin.
