University of New Hampshire (Master's)
I am a current Ph.D student at the University of New Hampshire. While Psychology and Statistics are my topics of choice, I have taken a wide variety of courses in math, science, English, history, and business. I have recently taken the GRE, and the SAT before that, and I am familiar with the pressures that come along with standardized testing and school work in general. I hope that I can help to alleviate some of these pressures, while teaching the concepts that are so important to success.

My son was not exactly "thrilled" with the idea of having a tutor. He is 14 yrs old and was starting to feel defeated in math. We met with Chris last night and he was a tremendous help. He connected with my 14 yr old, which is not always easy to do, and made math fun. My son was so excited about math when we left, and had a renewed confidence in himself. It was so great to see! I am looking forward to seeing his math grade improve, that will be a great accomplishment as he has struggled all year. Would recommend Chris to anybody!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am qualified to tutor statistics because my educational background includes extensive work in statistics and research methods. I have taken multiple statistics courses at the undergraduate level as well as three advanced courses at the graduate level (ranging from t-tests to multivariate statistics) providing me with a deep understanding of the concepts and theories important to improve student learning. I recently received my master's degree in psychology and work directly with undergraduate students as a teaching assistant in introductory statistics. Overall, I believe I have a wealth of experience and course work to be qualified to tutor in statistics.
