Reading, writing, listening, speaking, grammar, vocabulary! Caramba! Learning another language is challenging, but such an asset for your child's future. Together we can make the process as smooth as possible.
English is my native language, so I understand first-hand the trials and triumphs of learning Spanish. I have experience in breaking down grammar concepts and improving language skills in innovative ways. Before starting my family, I loved teaching Spanish at the Academy of Notre Dame in Tyngsboro, MA for nine years.
I have a Spanish degree from Holy Cross and a Masters in Education in Teaching Spanish from the University of Massachusetts Boston. I am certified to teach K-12 Spanish and have been successful teaching AP Spanish.
I lived and worked in Mexico and Peru and have traveled throughout Spain and Latin America. Currently, I am a stay at home mom trying to instill a love of the Spanish language and cultures in my three children.

I hired Elizabeth to tutor my son while taking a BYU online Spanish 3 course that had to be completed in two months. My son had previously failed this course at his previous high school and had a narrow window to replace a bad grade. Needless to say this was an aggressive schedule for a subject many kids find challenging in a regular classroom environment . I needed successful completion of an online Spanish course with a proctored final test deadline. Due to Elizabeth's great teaching my son earned a B+ in the class. This could not be accomplished by any run of the mill teacher. My son surprisingly enjoyed the time he spent with his tutor. I was suspect at first with the occasional laughter that was heard during many of her sessions. I would highly recommend her services to anyone who is looking for a skillful tutor who also knows how to make learning fun! If his Spanish teachers at his High School were as good as Elizabeth he would have got an A the first time.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
