I am a certified secondary social studies teacher in the state of New Hampshire who has been teaching middle school social studies since 1998. From 1998 to 2002 I taught social studies to special needs students in Lowell Massachusetts in a variety of subject areas including American History, World History, Geography, Economics, European History, and a course in Life Skills. Since 2002, I have been working as a secondary social studies teacher and I have experience teaching 5th grade Geography, 6th grade World History, and 8th grade US History. My student teaching was done at Manchester Memorial High School during the 1997 to 1998 school year and included instructing 9th grade Civics and Government and 11th grade US History.
I am currently looking to tutor students at the middle or high school grade levels two to three days per week. I have worked with students on an individual basis after school for thirteen years and I am looking forward to tutoring students in the Nashua N.H. area. I have a passion for history, social studies, and teaching and I am looking to share my knowledge with students who may be struggling with social studies. I also have three years of experience teaching study skills and life skills at the middle school level to special needs students and traditional students as well.
I believe I will be an outstanding tutor in the area of social studies because of my experience in teaching small groups, large classes, and individuals over the last seventeen years. I have taught a variety of subjects within the content area of social studies including; geography, world history, US History, European History, economics and life skills at both the middle school and high school levels.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
