While I have not spent much time thus far in formal teaching or tutoring, my dream for much of my life has been to help others learn; knowledge is my greatest passion, and sharing what I know is the most important pursuit I can imagine. My goal is to pursue my Master's degree and PhD in Literature and ultimately teach at the college level. I love discussing books and history and science, and I truly believe that with enough enthusiasm and determination, anyone can learn anything they desire.
In my undergraduate studies, I majored in English Language and Literature and dedicated countless hours to understanding the history and applications of English in all its forms; I ensconced myself in literature as an art and language as a technical and creative tool, and my experience in writing, reading, and analyzing literature is extensive.
While my primary passion has always been reading and writing, I appreciate the inter-connectivity of literature and the other humanities (art, history, cultural studies, etc.); thus, in attempting to greater understand the mutual influences of language and human behavior, I studied History as a minor accompaniment to my English Bachelor's degree.
I love to help others learn as much as I love learning myself, and I am willing to dedicate whatever time is needed to help students succeed in any area that they wish to thrive in. Please feel free to contact me to learn more. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
