Work outside of those bounds is actually IT-related work, not Quickbooks tutoring. Wyzant is a tutoring platform, not an IT support platform. Please respect this very import delineation.**********

***** For those who are business or other majors, I am also available to help you with various aspects of your Capstone. I have helped students who were business majors, economics majors, even nursing students working on their BSN, with their Capstone. When requesting help for your Capstone, please select Algebra or Economics, or one of the other courses for which I tutor, but indicate Capstone in your communication with me. Also, please upload any relevant information regarding your Capstone. *****

*****PRIOR to the tutoring session, please do the following: (1) Make certain that if a laptop is being used, that it is plugged in prior to beginning our session, as well as throughout the entire session; (2) Please make me aware of any learning or other disabilities, along with what I can do to accommodate you (your student) at the same time as scheduling our first session; (3) Let me also know in advance if there's a certain learning style that I will need to use with you (your student). For example: if you (your student) are a visual learning, needing more graphical illustrations, please let me know this when scheduling the first session. Also, if you or your student are unable to write and take notes during the session, please let me know when scheduling your first session. (4) I frequently drink beverages with caffeine during tutoring sessions. If this is contrary to your personal belief system, please let me know when scheduling our first session. (5) When discussing test-taking strategies with students, I will advise about ways to rule out incorrect answer choice for multiple choice questions. If the use of wording regarding odds, probabilities, likelihoods, or similar wording, are contrary to your personal belief system - please let me know when scheduling our first session. Be assured that this wording is regarding the statistics of increasing test scores, not references to what some might consider to be unseemly vices.*****

***** When wishing to schedule lessons, please make certain that you upload for me any study materials, sample tests, or other related information, that you're expected to use for your studies. Please upload these either in advance of requesting lessons, or immediately after having them scheduled. Just prior to the lessons doesn't give you the benefit of my being able to research any issues with the material in advance of the lessons. Your time is valuable. I want to make certain that our lesson time really does count - and is used most efficiently. Further, if there were certain problems that you were having difficulty with, please identify these in advance as well. I prefer to research these in advance of our lessons, not during our lessons. Please take advantage of this offer to research these problems in advance, at no extra cost to you, in order to streamline and make efficient use of your tutoring time.*****

For accounting classes: I have tutored both undergraduate and graduate students, in the following courses: Financial Accounting (Principles 1), Managerial/Cost Accounting (Principles 2), Cost Accounting, Intermediate Account 1, 2, and 3; as well as Auditing.

For Economics courses, I have tutored in undergraduate and graduate courses in both Macro and Micro Economics. HOWEVER, this semester (Winter and Spring, 2018), I have limited preparation time available. So, I am only able to tutor for the Principles-level Economics courses (not Intermediate or above). My apologies for any inconvenience this might cause for potential students.

Additionally, I've had various certification years as a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor. During that time, I taught several classes for students desiring to re-shift their work force focus. Most, but not all, of those students whom I have tutored, have been students studying business, criminal justice, or nursing.

My approach is different, in that I don't repeat the same mantra that people have already heard from their instructor. I look for unique and high-impact ways to communicate, so that I haven't just said something, but so that people walk away with a keen understanding.

I have worked as a tutor, a tax accountant, support technician, technical writer, technical trainer, network administrator, mathematician, and inventor in the area of computer security.

Tutoring has been for students in prestigious colleges and universities, junior (community) colleges, both undergraduate and graduate, along with junior high (middle school) and high school students.

Further, while tutoring math in college (almost 25 years ago), I was exposed to what has now become known as 'Common Core'. The basic premise behind this was to more carefully delineate student capabilities. Too many students were allegedly receiving a grade of 'A', with very different levels of understanding. The goal identified nearly 30 years ago, was that students who could do what was identified as 'higher order thinking' were the ones thought to deserve the grade of 'A', while those who could simply do the arithmetic operations would be relegated to a grade of 'B' or lower. Regardless of the school system or state, the ability to do the higher order thinking has helped prepare my tutoring students to advance to the top of their math classes, both in understanding and performance.

Understands IT issues as well

I had a new computer with a new operating system, a new Quickbooks version, and a new Microsoft office version, so there were multiple issues that needed addressing. He got most of them solved but was going to have to come back to finish but as we were in a hurry we got it finished on our own. Knowledgeable, friendly, helpful.

Very Patient tutor and knowledgeable

Mark is an excellent accounting tutor. I had to do a project that professor said that it was going to take 4 hours minimum. I scheduled my first appointment with Mark and we were able to crank out the whole project in less than 4 hours. He is a very patient tutor and knowledgable of the accounting world. He clarified terms/ steps that I was not sure of. He made sure that I had the answers correctly but most importantly, he teaches you as to how he got the answers. If you are ever stuck in Accounting, Mark is the person to go to!
