Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

ADHD

I am a certified special education teacher and have taught children with attention difficulties for over 12 years. I also have a grown child with significant attentional difficulties, who has grown into a successful professional and college graduate. I have experience in a host of strategies and tools to help engage students as well as a lot of patience and use a variety of hands-on and creative tools, such as fidget tools, alternative seating, movement breaks, Brain Gym, etc. I also understand the everyday frustrations, and especially the battles over homework and studying.
