I am an elementary classroom teacher with fifteen years experience. I have a MEd from Lesley University, Cambridge, Ma. I graduated with a 3.9 grade point average with a major in teaching children with reading problems; I also possess an MSW with a major in Clinical Social Work. I use my clinical experience in teaching by building self esteem in my students. I am very strengths oriented and believe that when a student feels confident in their academic abilities he or she will be better able to learn and to enjoy the process. I have experience working with all ages including adults.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have a Master's degree from Lesley University specializing in teaching dyslexic students. I have many years of experience teaching students with these problems. I have had a great deal of success in this endeavor. Also, I spent a year working in a private school for dyslexic students.
I am an experienced elementary school level teacher. I taught successfully for thirteen years. The curriculum covered all subjects. All teachers in the school where I taught were held accountable to a reading specialist who observed us teaching reading for thirty minutes bi-monthly.

I have also worked as an independent tutor with students from elementary level to adult.
I have over fifty credits in English including literature and grammar. I have a Masters Degree from Lesley College in teaching students who have difficulty learning through traditional methods. I am well trained in teaching writing skills. My students learn how to write interesting sentences, paragraphs and eventually essays. Once a student understands the structure of sentences and paragraphs these skills help the student comprehend sentences and paragraphs when reading. I love teaching reading and writing skills.
I have a MEd from Lesley University specializing in working with dyslexia students. I have many years of experiencing tutoring these students. I completed an Orten Gillingham training course which teaches a multiple sensory approach to teaching dyslexic students. The Wilson Program is based on this program and approach with some modifications.
I am a pianist who has studied with several teachers for the past fifteen years. I have studied music theory as well as piano technique and interpretation. I love music and try to make it fun for the beginner. Early level students have been referred to me by some of my teachers.
I hold a Masters degree in Clinical Sociology from an accredited School of Social Work. Also, I have had ten years of paid part time work as a clinical social worker. I was supervised at all times including the two years I spent on my internships. All my supervisors referred me without reservation.
