My name is Elizabeth K. and I am an elementary school teacher certified to teach elementary (k-6) and Deaf and Hard of Hearing students. I hold two master's degrees, one in Elementary Education from the University of Phoenix and the second in Curriculum and Instruction from New England College.
I currently work in the Manchester School district and have been there for 8 years. I have taught a variety of grades at the elementary level, ranging from a multigrade k/1 class to 4 grade and everything in between. I love teaching, I love kids and I love making a difference!
I have been exposed to various reading strategies and approaches throughout my years of teaching. I have also been exposed to various types of students ranging from students in the mainstream classroom to those needing specialized reading instruction in a resource room type setting. Through these various experiences I have become great at differentiating lesson plans to meet the needs of my students.
I have 8 years experience teaching at the Elementary level and during these year have gained experience with a variety of students with a variety of learning needs. I am highly qualified with the State of NH to teach K-6 along with early childhood education as well.
Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing are hard to come by, I currently hold NH certification in the area of Education for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
I am an innovative teacher who is always looking for new and fun ways to reach my students. I use a variety of approaches in my lessons from hands on to kinesthetic and even music. I love working with children and helping them gain more information about the world around them, because information is power! In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am currently a certified Elementary School teacher with Highly qualified status. I have 8 years experience in an elementary school. In addition to being a certified teacher I also have experience as a tutor for elementary school children.
Teachers of the Deaf are hard to come by, I currently hold NH certification in the subject area for K-12 with HQT (highly qualified teacher) status in grades K-6. I have 8 years experience working with DHH children in the elementary setting. I am familiar with the special needs of students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
In elementary school phonics is a big part of learning to read. As a current Kindergarten teacher I am very experienced in providing phonics instruction using a variety of methods. I have been trained in the Wilson program but am familiar with other methods as well.
