##### About Noreen

I have enjoyed math throughout my life, excelling at all levels through Calculus 3, Linear Algebra, Differential Equations and Statistics during my studies as an engineering student at The Ohio State University. In preparing to apply to OSU, I achieved an SAT score of 1170, and was granted a scholarship for both academic achievement as well as a written essay from the telephone and telegraph union in Pittsburgh, PA. I worked part time throughout my years at OSU and worked several semesters as an engineer at Eastman Kodak as a coop student, all in order to pay for my education in full. I graduated with honors, earning a 3.6 within the engineering department. During my tenure at The Ohio State University, I was the vice president of the Society of Women Engineers and came back to campus more than once to present to the latest crop of female engineers. I also studied flying during my last year of college and passed my private pilot's license test the day I graduated from the University.

Subsequent to college I enjoyed a very successful sales career while completing my MBA at Babson University. My GMAT score was 750. I left my sales career in order to raise my children full time. Now that I am a mother of two, I work with my children on their math development and get great satisfaction out of opening their eyes to the concepts presented at school each day. The classroom lesson seems to go so quickly, we find the additional support at home essential for their success in math.

Having tackled working with some of the toughest critics (my children), I am anxious to give similar support to other children who find the classroom a bit overwhelming and want to fully understand the concepts. I spent a few years as a substitute teacher in grades K-12, specializing in middle school math. I have assisted many students spanning K-12 but primarily 6th-8th grade, in their struggles with foundations of math, geometry, algebra and probabilities. I am proficient in all elementary and middle school math subjects. I am also well versed in geometry, trigonometry and statistics. I'd have to say that algebra is my personal favorite.

My strongest personal reference is my own son who tested well in math but struggled in the classroom. With consistent coaching, we brought his grades hovering at a "C" level up to high "B"s and "A"s. Through my strong knowledge base with the subject and creative approach, I will show your child the path to reach their full potential. Everyone can learn math and it is a subject that permeates our of our lives as a tool for critical thinking. I look forward to hearing from students who have the ability to learn these seemingly overwhelming topics and are looking for a mentor who can walk them through what often seems like a foreign language. I am available most days, some evenings and weekends. Please contact me to discuss a time that will work for both of us.
