Hello there! I come in peace. My name is Elizabeth and I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, and a minor in Engineering Leadership and Management. During this time, I worked three jobs, was a resident assistant, a varsity student-athlete, earning my Emergency Medicine Services (EMS/EMT) certification and shadowing fire inspections, chiefs, and Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) specialists. The most important thing I learned from staying busy in college was, it was not all about the classes but it was about the relationships I made. I took Organic Chemistry three times. The first time I felt so awful not passing well enough for my engineering requirements. The second time I tried online and once again felt defeated. I took it again with a third time with a new teacher during the summer semester. I aced the course! It did not even seem like the same material. I am now able to teach the material back to my study team and feel confident I learned and not memorized something. This is just one example of the importance of the professors teaching style, student-teach relationship and academic success. These professors all shared similar characteristics about engagement, going the extra mile, building strong communicative relationships, and being very approachable. Have you ever thought to yourself; I heard you the first time and now the 9th time, I still do not understand. Can you say it differently please? That hit the nail on the head for me. That is why my favorite characteristic of them all was that each explained things multiple times but a different way each time.

Understanding these techniques, I try to bring them into my lesson plans and tutoring experiences every day. I am always one who asks 1001 questions and makes wishes on the stars. I encourage all students to ask questions. Those who ask questions in the world are those who change the world.

I have 4 to 5 years of tutoring students on the spectrum especially at camps, extra circular activities, spee

I have conducted numerous bible studies in several different churches and different college groups. I have been a mentor for SEEK and FOCUS concentrating on collegiate students. I have held small bible study groups that are with both men and women or just women studies. We have discussions, questions, and a safe spot to ask challenging questions. I can teach scripture, children’s Bible stories with props, plays, and worksheets, or complete prayer groups and “life’s big questions.” I have been working with groups for over 18 years now.

"(Me + You) Multiply your smile and minus the drama. A fraction of your heart. I'll solve your problems. We make the PERFECT EQUATION." Yes, I may be a math lover but I am experienced, creative and passionate about helping others find why math is so helpful and interesting in each and everyone of our lives daily. I use both traditional, modern and new creative approaches with feedback to tutor. I have experience as a student learning that one of the biggest academic struggles is explanations and communication. I am versed as simplifying, relating, and explaining in various ways the concepts the students would like help and coaching with. My goal is for the student to understand the concepts well enough they can walk me through and teach me, yes me the tutor, a concept and problem. I will work with your team to set SMART goals and expectations. I will provide a respectful positive work environment that works for all. Thank you for your consideration.

"Mathematics is not about numbers, equations, computations, or algorithms: it's about UNDERSTANDING." What happens if the engineer who designed the bridge you just drove over does not understand how to calculate the weight of the cars on the bridge or why that is important? Scary thought, huh? I will help coach, break down material, simplify, teach various techniques, in a challenging yet realistic environment for maximum efficiency in a safe working environment. I look forward to using my math, engineering and science knowledge to communicate and assist you in your goals. Thank you for your consideration.

I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering and minor in Engineering Leadership and Management. I have been a teacher assistant and tutor at the University of Maine for Math, Science, Chemistry and Leadership courses. I teach STEM after school and present at conferences such as Engineering Ambassadors. I also teach on Tutor.com. I have experience in the industrial and lean manufacturing world for 3+ years now working with chemistry, cost analysis, thermodynamics, optimization computer programs and statistics daily. I am currently working on my Six Sigma Green Belt, Six Sigma Black Belt, FE exam and Paramedic certification. In those projects, I have real life experience in engineering and management in which I have led a team in a week Kaizen event. The Kaizen event saved the company 800,000 dollars in hard savings yearly from our group alone and over 1.5 million with soft savings. The reason I like the lean and quality perspective of chemical engineering is I get to put my love for math, science and chemistry and combine it with new ideas, creativity, team work and activities. I have a passion for seeing others succeed and feel the confidence to try new ideas. A strong communication between the student, his support team and the teacher is the only road to success. I work to improve on strengths, emphasize areas for improvement, gain understanding, and having fun. I believe that the best way to test our understanding is if the student can teach the subject back to his teacher or peers. Are you up for the challenge?

Anatomy

I have extensive knowledge of Anatomy and Physiology. Anatomy and Physiology is an enthralling subject for me- I loved helping my fellow classmates in EMS school when I took EMT course. Currently, I am taking Anatomy and Physiology in preparations to go back to school to become a nurse and continue my EMS training in hopes to become a paramedic. I was the first in my NREMT class to pass the practical exam in one try with flying colors.

Excellent

She is knowledgeable and instead of giving the answers, she makes me think through them and understand the process. Definitely recommended for chemical engineering classes

Great teacher, very patient

We went over 6 Sigma concepts for my first test. Elizabeth paid close attention on making sure the concepts were understood and repeated it if necessary in different ways.
