Brenda is a very good geometry tutor. She's very patient and accommodating to my daughters geometry needs. I am extremely impressed with Brenda's written assessment after each tutor session. I have never experienced written detailed reports of what was covered from a tutor. She goes out of her way to make the frustrated student feel at ease. I am so grateful to have found Brenda!

Thank you for the positive feedback Stacey. I am glad to be able to help your daughter.

Brenda is tutoring me in math to prepare me for the math portion of Praxis Core exam. She is knowledgeable and nonjudgmental. She goes at my pace and makes me feel comfortable.

Brenda was terrific

My daughter left feeling much better about precalculus. She yelled "I get it now!" When we picked her up.

That is great! Thank you for sharing this with me!

Brenda has a kind, warm personality and is very knowlegable. My daughter has enjoyed her first two lessons and has already made great strides in improving her understanding of geometry.

Thank you for the positive feedback Mary. Working with your daughter is a pleasure.

My college student daughter was very pleased with her first tutoring session with Brenda. She said Brenda has excellent skills in explaining the subject material.

Thank you very much Mitchell for the positive feedback. Your daughter is a pleasure to work with; she has solid math skills and is vested in succeeding in her current math course. This makes all the difference!

Brenda is a wonderful tutor and I would highly recommend her to any one of any age looking for help with math. Not only was she extremely flexible and kind, she was very knowledgeable in the content as well as showed a deep passion for what she teaches. As math can be very frustrating to many people, Brenda was able to help me understand concepts in a way that worked for me and made the material much less daunting to me. Brenda demonstrated her ability to teach different concepts in different formats to me which I believe is a wonderful skill for both a teacher and tutor. Overall I would highly recommend Brenda.

Brenda helped put my daughter in the direction she needed to go to accomplish her goals . We needed a different perspective from an experienced teacher.

Brenda is very patient and really knows how to tutor to the Praxis Math! She not only is helping with the math, she also has test taking strategy tips!

We met today for our first lesson. I am very happy with how today went and am looking forward to continuing with Brenda. She is very knowledgeable about the test and materials.

I can't say enough good things about Brenda. She is everything you're looking for in a tutor. She is professional, knowledgeable, kind, and patient. Her true goal is her student's success. I've been working with her for several months and am very happy with the progress I've made in understanding math concepts. Brenda is helping me prepare for the middle school math praxis exam, but I'm sure she would be an excellent tutor in any area of mathematics. If you're choosing a math tutor, you could not make a better decision than to work with Brenda!

Brenda was extremely responsive from day 1 of contact which allowed for services to begin immediately. She provided geometry tutoring for a student completing an online course and was able to quickly establish a solid rapport. She broke down the material in a way that the student understood. Brenda brought hands-on materials in order to reinforce the concepts being taught. Brenda has a very calm demeanor and was supportive to the student.

She is in the process of covering SAT material especially in math. She is able to present the subject matter in an easy to understand manner. She brings to the table the ability to put all of her years of experience and knowledge in an organized manner to better help understand the topics covered.

When our son started to fail his algebra 2 class we turned to WyzAnt to find a math tutor. I interviewed 4 tutors and asked 2 of them to come for a paid session with my son. Brenda was available next day. She spent 1.5 hrs with him and we saw an immediate improvement in his score from 57 to 81. We asked our son for feedback between two tutors and he said that he would like to continue working with Brenda. Brenda has been meeting with him since then once a week. She is responsive and gets back to you right away by phone or email. Brenda is very pleasant to work with, always smiling and laughing, which puts kids at ease. During her sessions I can hear my son asking clarifying questions, he is engaged and focused. My son's grades improved this semester considerably and we are very grateful to Brenda for her work.

Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I am a licensed high school teacher who has taught and tutored students from high school to college in concepts that are tested on the ACT Math exam. I am knowledgeable regarding the content, as well as the strategies that can be used to help students maximize their scores. I familiarize students with the format and types of questions on which they will be tested by using various practice exams that also helps them to develop a sense of timing so that they can complete more of the exam.

I have taught Algebra I at the high school level for four years and tutored college students in this subject for a year and a half. I am certified as highly qualified by the State of NH in high school math having passed the Praxis I and II levels in Math. Having worked in this subject area for many years, I understand the typical difficulties that students have with specific concepts involved in Algebra I and have developed strategies to help students avoid making errors and techniques in teaching the material which breaks down the material to promote greater ease in comprehension.

I am considered to be highly qualified to teach Algebra II at the high school level since I have successfully completed the Praxis I and II exams for the State of New Hampshire. In addition, I have taught Algebra II for four years as a high school math teacher and have tutored students at the high school and college level in this subject for eight years.

I have a solid knowledge of the content involved, as well as a solid understanding of the typical difficulties students have with specific concepts. This has allowed me to develop successful strategies to use with my students that help them to avoid making errors, while deepening their level of understanding by demonstrating how to determine solutions using various methods.

I have worked with ESOL students in the past, in individual tutoring sessions, as well as in group settings. I worked as a tutor at UNH Manchester in their summer program for two summers. I offered instruction in listening, reading, grammar, writing, and speaking English for students and adults from many different countries. The focus was to assist individuals to function in a culture which is often quite different from their native land.

I also offered workshops involving strategies to use in helping ESOL students master math courses taught in English at this university. In addition, I taught a course at UNH Manchester in which several sessions were focused on teaching others how to work with ESOL students to help them be successful in their school courses. I am knowledgeable in helping ESOL students develop study skills that will assist them in preparing for classes and completing tests.

I am aware of some of the specific language difficulties in learning English dependent upon one's native language and differences in writing styles that cause difficulties, (especially for college students). This requires very individualized plans which I am able to create for those whom I tutor.

I have successfully taken the Praxis I and Praxis II exams in math which involved questions in Geometry. In addition, I successfully completely two graduate level courses in Geometry and Geometric Proofs. I also taught Geometry for several years using a constructivist approach where the students created their own understanding of theorems through hands-on activities using protractors and compasses. I have tutored students in Geometry for several years in the past and continue to do so currently with several clients.

I have taken both the Praxis I and Praxis II exams in math and successfully passed both levels. I have been a math teacher for four years in the subject areas tested on the Praxis I and have taken many college courses in math at the undergraduate and master's level-in most courses I have received an "A" at the completion of the course. I am a professional math tutor who has worked extensively with college level students for many years including preparing adults in taking the various levels of the math Praxis exams. I am familiar with the content and format of the exam. I can share strategies with you to help you find solutions accurately and efficiently.

I believe I am qualified as an instructor in Pre-Algebra due to the fact that I have successfully taken the Praxis I and II exams in NH and have been certified as highly qualified in middle school and high school mathematics.

These exams test Pre-Algebra concepts. In addition, I completed a teaching course at UNH Manchester which required the students to work in a classroom as well as attending classes. I chose to work in a Manchester middle school classroom where I was focused on working with students who needed individualized attention due to either being more advanced than their classmates or needed remedial work. I worked in this classroom for a semester.

In addition, 6 or 7 years ago, I audited a course at UNH Durham entitled How to Teach Middle School Mathematics which involved learning various techniques in presenting math concepts to students at the middle school level.

I have successfully passed the Praxis I and II tests in math in NH, therefore I am certified as highly qualified in high school math which includes the area of Pre-Calculus. In the past as a college math student, I had worked as a class-link tutor in Pre-Calculus at the University of New Hampshire in Manchester for three semesters which involves attending each class and assisting the students during class. It also included organizing study groups for students. Four years later I returned to this University to tutor math students, many in the area of Pre-Calculus. This has allowed me to develop a fairly deep level of understanding of the concepts involved and to comprehend the typical issues students have with the material. I have developed many strategies to use with students to help them work through these difficulties so that they can be successful in mastering Pre-Calc.

The math section of the SAT involves content studied in various high school math courses which I have taught and tutored for many years.

Trigonometry is a math that is typically taught in two different high school courses; the trigonometric concepts are initially introduced in Geometry and then further explored and utilized in practical applications in Pre-Calculus. I have successfully passed the Praxis I and II exam for the State of NH and therefore the State has certified that I am highly qualified to teach middle school and high school mathematics. Geometry and Pre-Calculus is taught in high school. I have taught Geometry in high school for several years and have tutored students in Pre-Calculus at the college and high school level for eight years. I have a solid knowledge of Trigonometry and have developed many techniques to make understanding the concepts involved easier.

I am very skilled in writing and editing as indicated by the results on my GRE's which I completed in order to begin a Master's program. My reading comprehension and writing scores were both in the mid 90th percentile range.
