I have worked in both home, school and community center settings and I am known for forming a special bond of trust with students and their families. I strive not only to help achieve specific educational goals, but also to inspire a love of learning that propels students to achieve in many areas of their lives.

To really learn, it is not enough to memorize and solely focus on the details of grammar, syntax, plot points and characterization. It is important to be inspired and encouraged to learn and find your own meaning in what you study. Tests are important , but what is most important is understanding and appreciating the full range of what a particular subject can provide for your life overall. I would welcome the opportunity to work closely with you and your family to achieve your educational goals in a way that matches your style of learning and that brings some creativity, warmth and humor into the sessions. Customizing tutoring for you as an individual is as important as the best lesson plan. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I completed advance studies in comparative religion in college and have pursued the study of World Religions through adult education. I also have tutored young adults and adults in this area and served as a spiritual advisor on numerous occasions.
