Keene State College (English Literature)
My name is Joshua and I am a certified English educator, with a Bachelor's from Keene State College in English Literature. Words are my passion, and I hope to be able to pass that on to those I tutor. The English language is complicated, there's no denying it, but it not something that needs to be feared. My goal is to be able to help students overcome their difficulties through personable, pre-planned lessons and readings that are both interesting and applicable.
My deepest belief in education is that a student learns easiest when the material at hand is designed on a personal level, and my tutoring is hand crafted to match the needs of each and individual student that I tutor. By doing so, students are not only given the direct instruction that they need, but are able to do it in a way that is designed to match their personalities. Literature, writing, and even grammar can become interesting when students become personally involved in their work--but it takes an excellent lesson in order to build that bridge.
I have graduated from Keene State College with an Bachelor's in English Literature, and am a NH certified secondary educator. I have been published by local colleges, and am fully prepared to help students reach their fullest potential.
I am available most weekdays after school hours and can meet anywhere within a half hour of the Concord area. My goal is to match your needs, and if extra flexibility is needed, I can often work around more difficult schedules. I am prepared to help students that need it, so take that step and reach the goals you always knew you could. Welcome!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have taken four courses in studying the Bible, including work in both Old and New Testament. I was also raised as a protestant and have been surrounded by bible verses, hymns, and sermons my entire life. From everything as simplistic as prophets to as complex as canonization, I feel confident in my ability to teach Bible studies.
