About Patience

I worked as a tutor as an undergraduate for 4 years and am currently tutoring local students in math. I have always loved mathematics and seek to continue that by tutoring others in this vital subject. I attended one of the best schools in the nation for high school and graduated early to attend college at 17 years old. I then graduated college a semester early with a criminal justice degree, but took a few classes shy of earning a math minor. I graduated number one in my class and earned top marks in my math classes all throughout college.

Currently, I'm a law student studying to become an attorney in the next year and a half. My mother is a biology teacher and while I do not have a teaching certificate I have read many of her teaching books. I could take the teaching exam to become a licensed teacher, but as I'm working toward becoming a lawyer this is something I have chosen not to do.

I have taken classes up to calculus two (2) and while I excel at learning math I was also a certified math tutor for college students at my undergraduate university. Going through that process as one of the few non-math majors helps me to be more approachable to students. I know a lot, but I'm not intimidating. Students need tips and tricks to understand the material. My job is to make the material so easy to grasp that I work myself out of a job. By the end of tutoring, the student should no longer need my services to do any math problem in that subject area.

I look forward to working with you and leading you to the success of which you are capable!

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Algebra 1

I am currently tutoring this subject and have been for the past five years to both high school and college age people. I was a certified math tutor in undergrad for 4 years and am now in law school tutoring high school students in algebra 1 and 2 part-time.

LSAT

I am a current 2L in law school having taken the LSAT in June of 2013. I have helped others study for the LSAT and as a current law student know the logic involved in answering many of the questions in the LSAT as well as helpful test-taking strategies.
