Keene State College (Sociology)
I currently work as a paraprofessional with children that have a 504 or IEP. I work with students in 3rd grade in Claremont, NH. I have been a paraprofessional for 3 years now. I have worked with all ages but prefer the younger ages. I believe that all children should be able to grow and learn with his or her peers. I have helped many students achieve what they need. I love tutoring because it gives me inspiration and it gives me a lot more energy than what I already have. I am outgoing and very enthusiastic. Tutoring can give children the inspiration to want to hopefully help other children that need it as well.
I graduated from Keene State College in December 2011. I obtained a Bachelor Degree in Sociology and a minor in Psychology with a focus on children's behavior and development.
I took every math course available at my High School and I continued studying math in college. Math comes very easily to me and it makes it easier to tutor children in any math course. I specifically love elementary math because it is the basis of what they will learn as they get into middle school and in high school.
I am an inspirational writer. I prefer to write about what I see such as in Nature. I could be going on a hike up Arrowhead in Claremont, NH, and just sit down and start writing about my surroundings. What I hear, see and feel.
When I was in elementary school I had weak reading comprehension. I know what it is like to struggle through school with reading. Now that I have been through college and taking workshops at my current job I know how to help students with their reading. I currently am working with three students on their math and reading skills.
If you want to have someone help and work with you that will make it fun to learn and have a lot of energy. I am the one for you! You can always contact me through e-mail. You can ask me any questions that you would like and I am available 2 - 3 evenings a week and on the weekends. I do have another job but if this will help me with my schooling career than I am willing to tutor instead of working at my second job. All I ask is to give me a couple weeks out so I can let my job know. I am very flexible on hours on available days! Just email me and we will figure it out! Within my school career I have worked with the common core. I have seen the common core and worked with students on it. It is a curriculum that I am familiar with. I have not tutored anyone with common core but I have worked with common core.
I have worked in an elementary school setting for a year now. I have worked with students in the classroom and in a self contained classroom. I have helped students with math and reading. I have a Bachelor degree in Sociology. I also started tutoring in elementary school for students under my grade. I continued all the way through my sophomore year in High School.
I am qualified for this because I have been working very closely with students in 3rd grade on phonics. Assisting the students with any phonics and reading problems that they have. I once had reading comprehension problems in elementary school. I have turned around by working hard and pushing myself. Also from learning and tutoring students throughout my life I was able to move on and it made me stronger to pursue with helping students.
I went to Keene State College and graduated with a Bachelor degree in Sociology. I studied a wide variety of classes and structures within Sociology. I have used my education with helping students by being a paraprofessional. I have always wanted to study people and how they think.
