Each one has their own distinct learning needs. I establish a rapport with my students and get to know them, so that I can adapt my teaching methods as needed.

I hold a Masters in Theological Studies from Boston University School of Theology.

I am an analytical thinker and observer, so I am able to break down complicated tasks into manageable steps for my students.
I love reaching the light bulb moment with my students. Each one has strengths as well as weaknesses, and it's important to build on those strengths and make learning a positive experience.
Please let me know if I can meet your tutoring needs.

Special Needs

ADHD,

ADHD

I have worked for nearly 20 years in special education, often with students with ADHD. I use verbal and nonverbal cues to refocus students' attention. I try to find ways to teach ADHD students with kinesthetic and tactile methods.
Dyslexia,

Dyslexia

I have worked in special education for 17 years, often with students with language learning disabilities. I have been trained in Fundations and the Wilson Reading Program, as well as Project Read. For a dyslexic student, it is essential that a research based, multimodal and systematic program be used, integrating reading and writing. I am currently an elementary special education teacher in Massachusetts, and prior to that I was a paraeducator for 15 years.
