I am a NH certified teacher with a Masters Degree in Elementary Education from Rivier College. I have successfully taught 4th grade at a small Catholic school in Litchfield, NH and have spent 4 years tutoring math at public schools under the Title I program, grades 1-8. I have passed the Praxis II exams for Middle School Math and Language Arts with flying colors. My goal is to help your child do the same for their classes. Prior to being a teacher I worked for six years as a Human Resource Administrator giving me "real world" experience which I use to engage my students by showing them that what they learn in school will be relevant in their future. I left Human Resources to stay at home and raise my son, volunteer at his school and continue my own education.
Teaching is my passion. I'm so happy to have had the opportunity to go back to school and engage in this rewarding career. When I teach I like to incorporate the student's interests to make the content more interesting and comprehensible. I like to use various types of media and ask questions drawing out the student's own critical thinking ability so they can eventually grow to learn how to work out problems on their own.
I look forward to answering any of your questions about my background and discussing how we can help your student improve.

My daughter really loves her. Seems like she has a lot of patience and good grip on the subject. I would love to continue with her.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am currently in my 4th year as a certified k-8 teacher in New Hampshire. I have worked in Title I Math tutoring in both elementary and middle school. I have tutored privately for reading to 2 second graders. I've been a 4th grade teacher as well as elementary substitute teacher for over a year.
