MY EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND: I have 2 Associates degrees (Associates in Science, Associates in Applied Science for Computer-Aided Drafting and Design). I graduated Valedictorian of my CAD class. I also have 2 Bachelors (Bachelor of Arts in English with a minor in Architectural Design, Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering).

I have several hours of Masters credits in civil and environmental engineering; unfortunately, due to many personal tragedies and setbacks, I was unable to finish my masters.

I am also self-taught in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator basics though I'm not ready to tutor those subjects yet. I've also learned various other softwares and hope to get into some animation and 3d modeling softwares soon.

MY TUTORING/TEACHING EXPERIENCE: I have several semesters experience teaching AutoCAD basics to undergraduate engineering students. I LOVE AutoCAD! I first started using it in 1992 as a DOS-based program (Release 9) with a digitizer pad and pen plotter. That's over 25 years using it!

I've tutored and taught many age ranges from middle school students to older adults. Because each student is unique in their learning abilities, I like to evaluate the student first, see what they need to get caught up, and then cater lessons to those needs. My goal is to have each student NOT need me eventually. That might sound counter-productive, but it's not. I'm the training wheels that should eventually come off for the ride.

I have some experience with autistic and ADHD students. I have even sat in to school meetings to discuss IEPs and 504 plans for one student, a middle schooler I babysit after school hours. I have tutored 2 ADHD students (both

Homeschool

Algebra 1,

Algebra 1

I have tutored middle school students and adults in algebra. I customize each lesson based on what a child or adult needs and how they learn. My beliefs include having lots of patience and thoroughly explaining each topic to the best of my ability.
Algebra 2,

Algebra 2

I have tutored several students in Algebra 2. I am currently tutoring a 14-year old home school student in the subject. I customize each lesson to make it fun and less stressful and will work with the student until they understand the material.
Geometry,

Geometry

I have tutored students in high school geometry. As a civil engineer, geometry is critical to design aspects and visualizing things in 3-dimensions is very important. I bring knowledge of what I've learned and customize my lessons for each student and their needs.
Physics,

Physics

As a civil engineer, I loved learning about physics and applying it to my job. I enjoy helping students with the subject matter and have patience to go over the material until a student understands it. I like to make the lessons fun and enjoyable since I know physics can sometimes be intimidating to others.
Prealgebra,

Prealgebra

I have tutored students ranging in age from teenager to adult. I customize my lessons to fit the student's needs and make sure the student understands the material. Math is one of my favorite subjects and I make sure the student enjoys their sessions as much as possible.
Precalculus

Precalculus

It has been several years since I tutored a pre-calculus course. However, I have recently tutored Algebra and Calculus I and II. Pre-cal would not be difficult for me to pick up and work with. I bring knowledge of what I've learned and customize my lessons for each student and their needs.
