Creighton University, Omaha, NE (Chemistry)
I have worked as a chemistry and math tutor in Creighton University over two years and love to work with students. I like to help students face to face and try my best to explain the concept, especially chemistry, rather than enforce students to memorize it. I always suggest students ask any specific questions and lead them to tackle problems rather than showing them how to solve it first, because this way they can truly learn how to solve the problem and understand the concept more easily. Also, if students have questions outside of tutoring sessions they can always send me an email and will try my best to answer these emails.
I have a 3.80 GPA and have not missed dean's list since freshmen year of high school till now. I specialize in tutoring chemistry and math for success in school. Because I knew I was going to tutor underclassmen, I have collected all of my tests and other major assignments which can be used as study guides for students.
I am a junior chemistry major in undergraduate, and got all A's in general chemistry classes. I also work as a both nursing and general chemistry (I & II) tutor in Creighton University during regular semesters. I took AP Chemistry in high school and got 5 on the AP test. In addition, I am a math minor and got all A's in math classes (Calc I, II, III, statistics, differential equations). I also work as a Calculus I and II tutor in Creighton during regular semesters. I took AP Calc BC in high school and got 5 on the AP test.
I emigrated from South Korea about 8 years ago, so both my English and Korean are equally good.
I am very flexible with time. Although I have a 10 hour cancellation policy, I offer make up tutoring. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
