I have 35 years of teaching physics and astronomy at the college level. I enjoy seeing students understand the subject material. I feel that I am very good at giving one-on-one instruction. I do ask students to read the textbook and write down questions they have before a tutoring session. I also ask students to try to work problems before the tutoring session and show their work so I can identify where they need help. I seek to have students understand the general principles and not just one specific type of problem so they can be successful when they have to do their own work on an exam.

He is very kind and knowledgeable and very patient. He takes the time to explain things and then asks you questions to see what you've learned. It was well worth the time and money
I meet with Greg the first time and he helped me to understand the physics that I didn't understand in class. Than he helped to to further understand what we were going over in class currently. He worked some problems out with me first and then made some problems up, so I could further understand. He was very patient, and very easy to reach. When arriving at my house, he verified with his ID to my parents which shows that he has a great character and wants people to feel safe. I would highly recommend him to anyone!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
