In college, I tutored students in psychology and philosophy. I enjoy teaching others and one of my career aspirations is to be a professor of psychology. I've been told I'm good at explaining difficult material. My belief is that if someone can't sufficiently explain a concept to another person, then they do not have a good grasp of that concept. I enjoy the challenge that comes with teaching because it puts my knowledge to the test, helps others learn, and gives me a better understanding as well.

I majored in both philosophy and psychology in college. I have earned my masters in educational psychology and am working on a PhD. I have experience in conducting scientific research and academic writing. While I no longer study philosophy, I do try to stay familiar with the topic. Most of my philosophy expertise is in the fundamentals of philosophy and ancient philosophers.

I have taken the Praxis I and II and passed both with high scores. My program trained me well to take the exams, so I think I would be able to teach others as well.

Educational and school psychology focus heavily on special needs. Therefore, I have been trained to work with individuals with special needs and have many experiences working directly with children with special needs. I have also been trained and certified to identify and support students with autism spectrum disorder.

I am very interested in working with students who are interested in understanding and performing well in these subjects. No one learns the same way, so I am patient and do not believe in being harsh or judgmental. I do have a busy schedule with graduate school, but I am happy to make myself available in the evenings on weekdays and occasional weekends. Please contact me if you think I will be a good fit f

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

I have my masters and am working on a PhD in educational psychology with a specialization in school psychology. This requires me to be knowledgeable about all areas of special education. I worked in a clinic specifically for providing behaviors and functional skill supports to toddlers with Autism. I have previously received my RBT certification and gone through ADOS training to learn to identify ASD and develop behavioral interventions to address skill deficits. I also work extensively with children and adolescents with special needs, including ASD, as part of my graduate training.
