Bio

I have a total of 8 years teaching or tutoring experience. I like to focus on the applications of mathematics and how to bring mathematical reasoning to the real world.

I enjoy tutoring as I am able to help students understand difficult concepts in mathematics. Sometimes, extra time is needed to unpack definitions, see things from a different perspective, or see the larger picture.

I have taught courses in the subjects of College Algebra, Calculus I, and Calculus II, and I have taught recitations in courses on trigonometry, multivariable calculus, and more. I hold a M.S. in mathematics, and I have completed four years in a Ph.D. in mathematics.

I have passed a Ph.D. qualifying exam in Linear Algebra, I have been a TA for a linear algebra course, and I have two mathematics research publications which involve linear algebra (these are in the Electronic Journal of Linear Algebra and Linear Algebra and its Applications). I have good familiarity with Matrix Analysis by Horn and Johnson. Most recently I have studied using Markov chains in probabilistic zero forcing on graphs.
