Hello!
I graduated from the University of North Dakota with a major in Interdisciplinary Health Studies, a bachelor’s in science. I have also finished two years of dental graduate school at Marquette University School of Dentistry.
I have over 7 years of tutoring experience; you could say that I really enjoy teaching subjects that I love! I was a tutor and TA of Biochemistry, General Chemistry, and Physiology throughout undergrad. In dental school, I tutored first year dental students in: Physiology, Human Pathology, Histology (human) and Lab, Microbiology, Immunology, and Oral Histology.
Another area of experience that I am ready to help with is test preparation! My DAT score was in the 99%ile (24 AA). I just took and passed my first dental Boards exam, which consisted of all general/health sciences of the entire body, so I have recently had a refresher to help you with all your science questions! I also had an ACT score that allowed me to get enough scholarships to have no debt in undergrad. My ACT score was particularly high in reading and English, so I am willing to give study tips in those areas as well!
As for the whole process of getting into dental schools, I have plenty of tips and a whole document specifically for helping others with study tips, personal statement help, resources to use, applying, taking an entrance exam, and interview help! I helped many of my pre-dental and dental school friends throughout their entire process.
Through my years of tutoring and TAing students, I have grown and developed skills for teaching. I understand that every student learns in a different way, and each one usually needs you to explain it in ways other than the ones they have been taught it to succeed. I also can give advice and tips on how to succeed on any kind of test or entrance exam; I self studied and was able to increase my scores dramatically after learning the best way to prepare and study.
I can help at many hours of the day and late into the night, if that's what a student needs. Ple
