Hello!

I graduated from the University of North Dakota with a major in Interdisciplinary Health Studies, a bachelor’s in science. I have also finished two years of dental graduate school at Marquette University School of Dentistry.

I have over 7 years of tutoring experience; you could say that I really enjoy teaching subjects that I love! I was a tutor and TA of Biochemistry, General Chemistry, and Physiology throughout undergrad. In dental school, I tutored first year dental students in: Physiology, Human Pathology, Histology (human) and Lab, Microbiology, Immunology, and Oral Histology.

Another area of experience that I am ready to help with is test preparation! My DAT score was in the 99%ile (24 AA). I just took and passed my first dental Boards exam, which consisted of all general/health sciences of the entire body, so I have recently had a refresher to help you with all your science questions! I also had an ACT score that allowed me to get enough scholarships to have no debt in undergrad. My ACT score was particularly high in reading and English, so I am willing to give study tips in those areas as well!

As for the whole process of getting into dental schools, I have plenty of tips and a whole document specifically for helping others with study tips, personal statement help, resources to use, applying, taking an entrance exam, and interview help! I helped many of my pre-dental and dental school friends throughout their entire process.

Through my years of tutoring and TAing students, I have grown and developed skills for teaching. I understand that every student learns in a different way, and each one usually needs you to explain it in ways other than the ones they have been taught it to succeed. I also can give advice and tips on how to succeed on any kind of test or entrance exam; I self studied and was able to increase my scores dramatically after learning the best way to prepare and study.

I can help at many hours of the day and late into the night, if that's what a student needs. Ple

Chemistry,

Chemistry

Hey there! I would love to help you learn and study chemistry. As you can see in my qualifications, I got in the >95th percentile for my Chemistry score when I took the DAT. I ended up tutoring general chemistry for two years in college, due to my high success when I took the courses myself. My availability is quite flexible-online lessons. I also am on Central Time.  Please let me know if you would like my help, and we can begin setting up a time!

Dentistry,

Dentistry

I have completed two years as a dental student at Marquette University School of Dentistry. There, I tutored first year dental students in various sciences and dental sciences, i,ncluding: Microbiology, Histology and its lab, Physiology, Pathology,Oral Biology/Histology My DAT academic average(AA) was in the 99%ile: 24; Total Science(TS): 24. My high DAT scores and GPA allowed me to earn one of two scholarships allotted per year that all dental students in North Dakota compete for; it pays for a huge portion of dental school for all four years.
Physiology,

Physiology

My major, Interdisciplinary Health Studies, had a core set of courses in Physiology, which I was able to be a Tutor and TA for after doing exceptionally well in the class; as well as Anatomy, Biology, and Chemistry. Tutoring Physiology, a course known to be so challenging that many students were on their 4th-5th time retaking it, was incredibly rewarding for me to see those same students pass the course overall, and they were able to get into their intended graduate schools! Tutoring Physiology caused me to learn by: reinforcing and expanding my knowledge of Physiology; having to come up with new and different ways to explain the same physiological concept to facilitate each tutee's unique thought process and the various ways they learn most efficiently; and realizing that many students are struggling because they do not have any methods or strategies on how to study/learn/test, not from a lack of effort from them or an inability to learn. Following my undergraduate major and graduation, I started dental school at Marquette University school of Dentistry, where I got to be the student again for Physiology courses; followed by me tutoring Physiology for first year dental students, which I loved teaching my second time too!

Swimming,

Swimming

I was a certified swimming lesson instructor and lifeguard for 3 years, during which I taught all swim lesson levels: 1-6. My mom teaches private lessons, and has been since she lifeguarded in high school; ultimately leading to pool days to swim and receive lessons as young as I could. A lifetime of practice and instruction has led me to be very knowledgeable about lessons and how to teach different age groups or handle a very large class.
Volleyball

Volleyball

I was awarded the All-District-Player Award and the All-Region Team in high school. I was captain of the varsity team sophomore-senior year. More importantly, my experiences make me qualified to teach volleyball skills; one is the fact that I had to go to multiple individual camps each summer by myself, where the college coaches and players break down each skill for you, and then you practice it, learning from professionals. My other experience is actually coaching elementary girls volleyball; which is everyone's first year playing, meaning that you teach them every skill from scratch.
