Hey! I'm Stephen, and I'm a senior at the University of Pennsylvania studying neuroscience, Spanish and music. I have three years of paid experience tutoring middle school, high school and college students in the areas of chemistry, biology, psychology, Spanish, English, mathematics up to calculus and including statistics, social studies and ACT/SAT prep. I also have experience tutoring students with Asperger's Syndrome. I am highly proficient in Spanish and recently completed a two-month study abroad program in Sevilla, Spain. I was the salutatorian of my high school class, a National AP Scholar, and a National Merit Scholar, receiving a 2320 on the SAT and a 35 on the ACT. I love kids, tennis, dogs and jazz. :) I also have a car, so there is not a need to worry about transportation!

I'm majoring in neuroscience at UPenn and have received A grades in the introductory biology, chemistry and physics courses there, organic chemistry I and II and biochemistry. I also made a 4 on the AP Biology exam and have a score of 760 on the Chemistry SAT II and therefore have had a lot of exposure to both introductory and college-level biology and chemistry.

I have taken Spanish since kindergarten and am continuing my studies with a major in Spanish at UPenn. Studying abroad has also allowed me to pick up on more nuanced grammatical constructions and idiomatic expressions and helps me to think more critically within the framework of Spanish as a subject of study.

I received scores of 800 on both the SAT Reading and SAT Writing sections before the test was changed to being out of 1600, and I was a National Merit Scholar in high school due to my performance on the PSAT. I also have over two years of experience tutoring for both SAT and ACT prep.

I have played the trombone since the sixth grade and have participated in jazz bands, marching bands, big bands and wind ensembles since then. I play every chance I get, and at UPenn, I often play in the pit for theatre groups on campus. I am familiar with scales, chords, improv

Great tutor

I have recently been using Stephen's help in my Spanish 201 class. Stephen has been a tremendous help throughout my semester and I honestly do not think I would be making such a good grade if it was not for his help. He is flexible with his times, communicates well, and is very timely in his responses. I would definitely recommend him as a tutor!

River, 7 lessons with Stephen

Not a single complaint, awesome tutor!

Stephen was amazing, he helped me through surviving the second half of my semester in gen Chem I. I haven't got a single complaint. His pricing is very reasonable compared to other chemistry tutors especially with the attention and help that he provides. He was thorough, prepared in advance, very quick to respond to messages, punctual, totally chilled if I was running late, knowledgeable, explained things in a clear manner, flexible, wrote out notes which were exactly what I needed to remember from our sessions. I haven't got a single complaint, I only wish that I had sought out his help earlier in the semester. I plan on asking for his help in future chemistry courses that I take through the remainder of my college years. I couldn't have asked for a better chemistry tutor, thanks Stephen!
