About Ric

I am a college student who attends William and Mary in Virginia. In my experience as a TA I have discovered a love for learning, but more importantly, a love for sharing what I know with the rest of the student population. I found my love for teaching during a summer EMT class. During that time, we were learning some hardcore stuff, and some of my classmates were suffering in class. So, I formed a study group and together we ace the EMT finals together. It was then that I realized that helping others, no matter through being an EMT or being a tutor, is always welcomes. This is why I started this business, and this is why I do what I do.

I am currently a neuroscience major in William and Mary. This interdisciplinary major combines my two biggest academic loves of biology and psychology together. I often wondered about how the biology of the brain and affect the psychology of a person and vice versa, the journey continues to this day.

For those of you who don't know about my college, it is a liberal arts college, which means that many of the classes are very writing intensive. I must write multiple papers and have them judge by my professors that over time it become natural to proofread.

My study skills developed over a lifetime is still improving. I picked this skill as my subject of interest is because I would like to share my method with my students, even if it would help one student succeed, then I would feel accomplished.

I have been playing piano for 12 years. I love learning a new piece. Music can be a great distraction in life and in the classroom. I am proud to say that I am currently still taking piano lessons, even though I am in college just for the fun of it.

I want to help you become a better studier, learner, and test taker because one day you'll realize that elementary, middle, and high school are all there not to teach you stuff, but to help you learn how to learn. The sooner you realize that you are only teaching yourself, and have the ability to do that, the sooner you'll succeed in life. I hope to be apart of your journey, and remember, together we are victorious.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Elementary Math

Math has always been a good subject for me. However, I found that to be a great math guy, you must first be a great math kid. Thus, I wish to aid you in improving your math foundation to the best of your ability.

Geometry

I first took geometry in my freshman year of high school, I found the subject to be very easy. So, It came to be that I began to tutor other students in geometry at my high school's math club. For now, I still love tutoring and tutoring geometry is just a bonus.
