I have a biology degree with additional extensive coursework in math, chemistry, and geology. I love science and math, and my greatest joy is seeing the eureka! moment when a student grasps a concept that has been eluding them. I have volunteered in elementary schools tutoring one-on-one and in small groups. I am currently employed in a community college learning center, and my peers and students consistently praise my skills and ability to engage learners in ways that truly allow them to learn and excel.
I have a 4.0 GPA in college level maths (precalculus algebra; trigonometry; calculus I, II, III, IV; statistics; finite math). I have experience tutoring all levels of students from elementary to adult learners, and a sympathetic demeanor to help math phobic students overcome their fears.
My first love is biology, from the intricacies of DNA transcription and translation to the deep joy of unraveling the myriad relationships among the Earth's plants, animals, and microbes. Along with biology, my love and study of geology allows me to explain and clarify the processes that have shaped our Earth.
