I have 20 years' experience as a classroom teacher in North Carolina - ten years teaching Social Studies/History and ten as a Mathematics instructor. I have taught several subjects in those areas including Algebra I, Algebra (Australia) II, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, US History, Economic Legal and Political Systems, World Geography, Sociology, and Psychology. I have extensive experience utilizing various differentiated instruction models and in using technology to meet students needs.
Personally, I have spent the past three years living abroad in Australia and experienced a unique culture and cuisine. Australia is a beautiful place with so many interesting people, animals, and foods. I also spent 24 years coaching football in various positions from position coach to offensive coordinator with a special interest in the spread option attack.
I have three daughters aged 23, 19 and 17, The oldest is a RN. The middle daughter is in school at UNC Asheville and the youngest is currently a senior in high school. All three graduated or are in the top ten of their respective classes.
I have been trained in many different teaching strategies including but not limited to CRISS, differentiated instruction and learning styles inventories. My abilities as a communicator and identifier of student needs is exceptional. In short I have many acquired skills and techniques to help your child master subjects that they need help with. I enjoy encouraging children to think and love the subsequent feeling of confidence that it instills in them. Hopefully it creates a desire in them for life long learning.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have coached high school football for 24 years. I have served as a position coach for offensive linemen, defensive linemen, running backs, wide receivers, and quarterbacks. I have also served as an offensive coordinator and worked at numerous summer college camps. I have a thorough knowledge of the rules of the game as well as individual skill development for various positions.
Outlook has been my preferred method of email since it first came out. I have used all the versions of it and noted the differences in each update. I am skilled at setting up mailboxes and adding/removing mail accounts. I also have experience using the calendar and reminder functions for planning and time management.
I am a North Carolina Licensed teacher in Social Studies. I have taught sociology, psychology, U.S. History, World History, Geography and Economic, Legal and Political Systems courses over the last 20 years in a public school setting.
More specifically I taught and implemented the basic structures of law and government as it relates to political science. My experience is in constitutional law, political systems and election methods. I also developed and taught topics such as political issues, politics by region, political history and studies on political advertising.
