I currently work as an Exceptional Children Instructional Assistant where I provide whole group, small group, and individual instruction to first and second grade students with special needs to assist them with the goals of their Individualized Education Program. This includes students with ADHD, Autism, and other health impairments. I have also worked with students from Kindergarten to 8th grade in the areas of math, reading, language arts, and science. My past tutoring experience has included providing one on one assistance in studies of core subjects, maintaining learning materials and resources, conferring with parent on a regular basis to provide updates and attain feedback, and monitoring students' performance.
My goal is to maximize the student's full potential which will in-turn result in noticeable improvements in grades and test scores. My methods include being patient, open communication with the student and parent, and making sure the lessons are interactive and fun. Every student learns in their own way, so I make sure the lessons I provide are differentiated to meet the student's learning style and keeps them engaged. I also keep up with the state standards, so the student gets everything they need out of the lessons.
I do have a 24 hour cancellation policy, but any missed session can be rescheduled.
I look forward to hearing from you and working together to reach a common goal!
