Hi, I am a local high school history teacher who would like to offer my knowledge and services to students outside of my high school. A graduate from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with my history degree and secondary education license in the spring of 2015. I study all areas and times of history, but especially enjoy European and US history, and have made Dean's List and Chancellor's List multiple times in my time in higher ed. I have made growth in the classroom with my regular and honors students every year that I've been in the teaching profession and I would love to speak with a parent more about what their goals for their child are and how we can work together to expand their knowledge of history.

I have been teaching American history for over five years in the classroom and focused on it heavily in college. I am always working on new projects and ideas for my American students, it's the subject I spend the most time working with.

Social Studies

I am qualified to teach Social Studies because of the great amounts of courses and research I have done on the subject in my time at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and in my personal life through books and peer-reviewed journals. I have excelled at all of my history courses, including courses that were on TEACHING history and critical thinking skills. While I do not have my education license yet, I will have earned it in 8 months from now from UNC-G and am on track to graduate magna cum laude, or with high honors (3.70+ GPA).

Good Fit - Knowledgeable

My son has worked with Garrett twice to review material for AP US History, and he will likely continue to work with him until the AP Exam. It has been time well spent. Garrett is a good fit for my son's personality and learning style.
