Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

ACT Math

I have a B.S. in Mathematics from Salem College. I have been tutoring for 7 years. I currently tutor at a community college and I teach dance at a studio in Clemmons, NC. I try to find ways to relate math to everyday life so that math makes more sense for children!

Algebra 1

I received a B.S. in Math from Salem College. Algebra introduces a whole new aspect to math and it can be difficult to grasp at first. My hope is that I can make this new addition to math make more sense for your child!

Algebra 2

I hold a B.S. in Mathematics from Salem College, but I still remember beginning Algebra in high school. Algebra introduces a whole new aspect to math and it can be difficult to grasp at first. Sometimes it just takes a little extra work before it begins to make sense!

Ballet

I have 21 years of dance training. I have competed across the US in dance styles such as ballet, gymnastics, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, tap, and character. I hold over one hundred national dance titles. I attended The North Carolina School of the Arts, now The University of the North Carolina School of the Arts, for Ballet and graduated with a concentration in ballet from NCSA in 2008. I have trained in several states as well as Italy for a two week ballet intensive and Long Beach, California with the Radio City Rockettes. I began teaching dance as an assistant teacher when I was 12 years old and currently teach at a studio in Clemmons, North Carolina.

Discrete Math

I graduated from Salem College in 2012 with a B.S. in Mathematics, B.S. in Chemistry, Minor in Psychology, and Minor in Statistics. I have been tutoring for 7 years. I enjoy helping math make sense for people!

Elementary Math

Sometimes math can be difficult for children at first. This can be a stressful situation for your child as well as yourself as you try to help them learn something that will benefit them for the rest of their lives. I have spent the last 7 years trying to find the best ways to tutor children not only to make them understand math, but to also make them enjoy it! I relate math to things that children will understand in order to make math make more sense to them.

Prealgebra

Pre-algebra begins to introduce new aspects to math, and they can be difficult to grasp at first. I have been tutoring for 7 years. I currently tutor at a community college as well as privately for kindergarten through college, and through this experience I have found ways to relate math to everyday life so that math makes more sense!

Precalculus

Precalculus is the beginning of a new branch of mathematics. The new concepts can be very difficult to grasp. I obtained my B.S. in Mathematics from Salem College. I have been tutoring for 7 years and enjoy helping math make more sense!

SAT Math

I received a B.S. in Math from Salem College. Standardized tests can be difficult and I would like to help make the process a little less stressful on yourself and your child. I try to find ways to relate math to everyday life so that math makes more sense!
