About Mark

My experience comes from my extensive coursework in college. I am an incoming senior adding a minor in comparative literature, simply because I love English and philosophy. My history in writing is vigorous. I have finished my major in English at UNC and am currently working on philosophy and comparative literature. As of very recently, I am working on an honors theses on philosophy and literature, and film.

The English degree encourages creativity and unique thought. Writing an English paper is always a visceral and engaged process dealing with subjects in depth. It is about looking at the surface level of language, plot, and dialogue, and reading between the lines to come up with something fascinating. I carried on that type of interest and outlook into my philosophy major, which also adds on the importance of communicative language, rationality, logic, and clearness in thought and writing. If you want to learn as much as you can, with someone who truly loves what they are doing, contact me! I promise you'll learn a lot, while the time flies by as well!

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
