I am from Colombia South America. Learning a different language is an exciting experience that's why I enjoying being a tutor to help students achieve their goals in Education. I approach my students with respect . I begin by discussing the student s' expectations. I provide many demonstrations. I usually show and/or tell my students what needs to be done. When is the students' turn to "do" , I usually assist to the extend assistance is needed and welcomed, withdrawing your help if you see is it not. Then, after a while, the students do it on their own. This way, the students develop independence and responsibility, while recognizing the tutor's role as coach/facilitator. The expectation is that the student will learn what is being taught.
I love what I do. Even as a tutor, I will be constantly learning. Perhaps I will learn more about how people become literate; perhaps I will learn more about the goals of my students. By assisting in the pursuit of those goals through relevant material, I might even learn about plumbing, landscaping or children's literature. Also, as I admit my lack of knowledge on various topics, my students may realize that they have something to teach me as well. Students are often good problem solvers, having skills that tutors may not. Tutors can often learn about their students' abilities by listening to how they have coped with not being able to read and write in a reading and writing society. This pooling of knowledge and skills is something both will learn to do more of as tutoring sessions progress successfully.

For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
