I am an experienced choral director with expertise in piano and voice. My specialty lies in middle and high school students, but I am willing to work with all abilities and skill levels. My enthusiastic personality is very contagious among my students, whether one-on-one or in a classroom setting. I currently play keyboards on my local church worship team and I also have community directing experience as well.
Aside from music, I also have vast experience in teaching and directing theatre as well. I am very passionate about performing arts and would love to help students cultivate their interest and talents.
I have experience with Music History, Music Theory, Piano, Voice, Musical Theatre, and have been an Acting Coach, Theatre Director, Community Chorus and Theatre Director.
Please contact me to discuss options for lessons and scheduling. I am willing to travel to you or you can travel to me. I would love to help you in your musical endeavors! In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
My degree in music education required several semester hours of music history. I have taught music appreciation/history as part of my past classroom teaching experience in public schools at the middle and high school levels.
I have played the piano for 35 years. I took private lessons for 14 years, took 4 years of college-level piano performance lessons and continue to play piano and keyboards in my local church worship band.
My degree is in music education with a choral emphasis. I sang in the Millikin University Choir for two years, Millikin Men's chorus for two years and I took six semesters of college-level vocal performance lessons. I have taught choral music for six years at the middle and high school levels.
