I am looking to help kids who struggle in the areas of writing, reading and literature. I have a BFA in Creative Writing and am looking for part-time work. I have over 15 years experience working with children ages 5 and up. I have also worked as a family resource center coordinator in New York. There, I gained the experience of teaching after school programs and also tutored children while running a counseling and information hub for parents, students and teachers. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
