In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
As a regular classroom educator, I have nearly 17 years experience working with students who have ADD/ADHD and have had numerous inservice trainings on the subject as well as classes in Special Education. At present, I am the SPED/Resource teacher for 5-8, write the 504s and am familiar with both state and federal guidelines on 504s and IEPs.
