About Elizabeth

Children love me and my patience with them rarely wares thin. I believe they respond to my energy and enthusiasm, as well as my level or respect for who they are as individuals. My experience working with children has taught me that there is nothing more rewarding than helping a child live up to their potential and watching them light up when they accomplish their goals and learn something new. I received all A's and B's in Art History and English coursework in college and continue to read, write, and paint daily. I also retained approximately 500 note cards with pictures and information from my Art History classes. After 7 years of pursuing higher education (2 of which were spent in Australia working towards an MFA), I have developed solid and time tested study methods. Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Drawing

I received my bachelors degree at the University of North Carolina in Wilmington. I specialize in portraiture but have experience in all the Fine Arts including sculpture, painting, and graphic design. I also have experience teaching children as a volunteer teacher's assistant for Charlotte Mecklenburg school systems.
