After attending many workshops in the Bozeman, MT area studying wildlife art and studying with a master portraitist, Frank Covino, I have gained a great respect and admiration for the Old Masters Methods. This is classical oil painting at its finest, no abstract here. The paintings created using the florentine method are museum quality and will outlast us all. I require use of water soluble oils for the kids under 13 as they are so much less toxic and easier for them to use.
Naturally, if you have never drawn or have very little experience, drawing is probably the place to start, but there are ways to still get you painting quickly. Tricks of the trade so to speak.
I've taught art to all ages and enjoy the rewards of seeing someone grow to love drawing and painting as much as I do.
Being a homeschool mom, I can relate to the difficulties of finding suitable programs and the many options out there. I teach the technical, aesthetic aspects and do not go into art history, I leave that to someone who enjoys teaching art history.
After years of teaching to all ages and levels, I've learned what works and what doesn't for the various types of learners. I've got a gentle and patient attitude and want my students to gain the confidence to dive in with both feet and splash a little paint around and come out on the other end smiling and proud of their creations.
If you are ready to dive in and have fun while creating wonderful works of art that you will surprise yourself with, get in touch with me today! In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
