I have worked as a licensed pediatric speech-language pathologist since 2004. I have extensive experience working with students in the areas of speech/ language, phonics, reading skills, elementary math and science. In addition, I have worked in the past as a private tutor for elementary age students as well as an adult literacy tutor.
My love of reading has allowed me to continue with a lifetime of learning, and I welcome the opportunity to pass on that love to my students! I will do my best to be flexible and offer makeup sessions if needed. I am also flexible in meeting places, whether it be a library or another space that is convenient for you.
Aside from being licensed speech-language pathologist, I am an avid reader. I have taken several continuing education courses specifically geared towards phonics instruction.
I have 10+ years experience working with elementary-age students in all subject areas, with a focus on English, reading, spelling, phonics, as well as the study skills needed to complete assignments on time.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am a speech-language pathologist and have worked with many children with autism, targeting speech, language, and social skills delays. I have taken several continuing education classes that target this population, including the Greenspan Floortime approach. I have worked with a variety of children with this diagnosis, from toddlers to teenagers, and mild to severely impaired (i.e., non-verbal).
I have 9+ years experience working with elementary students and special needs students in the areas of speech/articulation, language skills, phonics, and homework help in all subjects. I have tutored elementary students in their areas of need, including 6th grade math/science and reading/phonics in all grades/levels. I try to find the students' level of comfort and help them to improve from there, as well as to keep in contact with their teacher (when allowed by parent) in order to monitor their progress more closely.
I have worked as a pediatric speech-language pathologist since 2004. In order to receive my Master's degree, I had to take courses focusing on phonetics, phonics, and language development. Since that time, I have also completed continuing education courses focusing on phonics, as it is a subject I am very interested in. I have had the opportunity to practice these skills several times over the years with various clients in my speech/language career.
