My philosophy is that learning should be fun, especially learning a foreign language. From the age of twelve, I started to develop curiosity about other languages and cultures. Because it was fun, it became easier for me to remember every word from pronunciation of the alphabet to sounds, phonetics and grammar. This is the same experience I want to share and help to develop from my students.
I have over twenty years of experience in academic tutoring and a double major in French and Psychology. I also have a certificate in Translation (French to English). I hold a license by the French state exam board. My specialty in tutoring range from K-K12 and college.
My students are not simply getting vocabulary words, or grammatical rules. They are amazed by the way they are retaining the information. As a native speaker, I provide them with life examples related to both French and the English cultures to help them remember everything they learned.
I was encouraged by friends and other students to post on WyzAnt because they are impressed with my style of teaching. Now I am encouraging new students to join me in this journey to benefit a double advantage not to only improve their test scores and grades but also to be able to speak French. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
