Emmanuel COllege (Pastoral Ministries)
Southwestern Christian University (Graduate Coursework)
I am a person committed to the learning process and consider myself to be a lifelong learner. In my early years I served as a teacher assistant in the public school system but discovered my primary calling in pastoral ministry. Because of my involvement in education and youth development I served my parent organization in its Education Division for many years. I have a B.A. in Pastoral Studies and have completed my course work for a Master's Degree in Leadership Development.
During my pastoral career, I have sponsored many learning experiences for adolescents and teens. My emphases on accountability, patience and tenacity have allowed me to be a friend and mentor to students at every level. In my semi-retirement I continue to be a learner, a pre-requisite for being a great teacher. It would be an honor to share my experience and enthusiasm with your son or daughter as we partner together for his/her future destiny as a generational leader.
My formal education degree (graduated valedictorian of my class) and my professional experience give me the qualification to not only theorize about the importance of education but to give practical application of its value to your student. As a pastor and denominational executive, I am an expert in communication both oral and written. As a speaker, I have spoken with confidence to audiences of 10,000+ inspiring corporate plans of action and to smaller, intimate groups motivating individual commitment. As a writer, I have composed argument briefs, policy manuals, personal development plans, illustrative stories, testimonials and sermon manuscripts. I am currently working on multiple books for publication and can really help your student to focus, organize and compose their thoughts whether for speaking or writing. My grammar skills and vocabulary are extensive and by natural engagement as well as by specific lessons your student will benefit personally. I read broadly and am familiar with the works of literature your student will be exposed to in their curriculum.
I am very comfortable in presenting the basic elements of elementary math and believe I have comprehensible methods for helping your student break through the maze of confusion and get a clear understanding of how math works. With a few mental clues and specific, secret strategies your student will learn to love math rather than be intimidated.
I would cherish the opportunity to inspire the next generation to appreciate the learning process, celebrate their sense of personal excellence and assist them in their journey toward true destiny. I desire to be your student's tutor, confidant and friend. I want to be your partner as the parent in the educational success of your student.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
B.A. in Pastoral Studies
Master's Degree in Leadership Development (course requirements complete)
36 years pastoral and denominational executive experience
My B.A. in Pastoral Studies included multiple classes in speech making. As a pastor, I spoke publicly a minimum of 3 times a week for 36 years. I have spoken internationally to crowds as large as 10,000. In addition, I have worked with an interpreter to communicate with non-English listeners. Nationally and statewide, I have spoken to audiences of 12 to 5,000 attendees.
Within my parent organization, I have served as a public speaking coach and mentor assisting students in defining clear objectives, organizing thoughts/materials for presentation, developing illustrations to enhance retention in listeners and reviewing the importance of event specific appearance and stage presence.
In addition to my college classes in speech, my personal experience teaching and coaching, I have completed numerous training events in effective communication skills and public speaking mastery. I can instill the self-confidence and inform the techniques and expertise of public speaking for the benefit of your student.
