I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology, minor in Education, and a Master of Science in Curriculum Instruction with a concentration in Early Childhood. I also have a level 3 Administrator credential and I am a certified teacher.
I have over 20 years of experience in supporting students and families in academics for social and personal behavior in the school and home environment. I have many experiences that indicate skills beyond those in the classroom such as: a lead teacher at the After School Enrichment Program, substitute teacher at various schools, and a nursing assistant. Other accomplishments are volunteering at a variety of organizations: The 4-H Club, American Red Cross, Elementary School and a Day Care Center and training at East Carolina University Pre-school Laboratory and an Internship at Beaufort Community College.
When I am not working with children, I enjoy reading. My favorite place to get away is the beach watching the waves.
Having a great compassion for student’s success as well as supporting the school and home environments, I offer high enthusiasm and motivation for success, growth and achievement. It is my firm goal to enrich the lives of students, adults and families. Flora B.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
