“**Great!**”

Last year I retired from 20 years of teaching at the college level, where I taught earth science, geology, chemistry, ecology, environmental science and geography. I also taught two years of high school math and did my student teaching in third grade. My course evaluations have always been excellent and have won a number of teaching awards.

Alan has done a wonderful job teaching and guiding my son through some difficult material over the past few weeks. My sons has learned a tremendous amount in such a short period of time. I only wish we had found Alan sooner.

Alan was very patient and encouraging to my son who is rather difficult. My son struggled through math and actually failed his college algebra class. We made him pay for and take the accelerated summer class which was a huge mistake. Summer classes are an accelerated program and if you don't grasp the concepts before it is extremely difficult to catch up. Alan helped him through the summer session although he did not do well on the testing part he did finally grasp the concepts that Alan taught him over the summer. My son is retaking it once again and because of Alan working with him over the summer I believe he helped him to grasp the process and he now has an A in the class. Thank you Alan for all your support, patience and encouraging words!

Alan continued to work with my daughter. She is much more confident now, I only wish Alan could follow us home to continue working with her! She said "Alan knows how I learn and was very helpful".

Math:

ACT Math,
Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
