About Bradley

I have vocally trained 3 "America's Got Talent" contestants, and numerous other acclamation.

I hold a MAT from Coastal Carolina, and two undergraduate degrees in music (performance and education). And I am a certified music teacher for K5-12 in SC, but prefer private lessons.

I recently moved to North Carolina to pursue a career in Worship Ministry. I am a master level Kodaly Educator/Pedagogue, receiving training from Dr. Jill Trinka during my undergraduate and graduate degrees.

I am fluent in many different styles of music, but most importantly, I try to engage the student through a curriculum designed specifically for them. I have a performance degree in guitar, but my music education studies have allowed me to become adept in virtually every western instrument. My background in Kodaly specializes in Sight-Singing, Ear Training, Voice and special techniques to improve overall general music studies.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Ear Training

Through mastering the Kodaly Method, use of "audiation" or inner-ear, paired with solfege techniques allow the student to place pitches within a tangible medium. I have studied these techniques for 6 years, and have applied them to my own students for the past 3 years.

General Music

My degrees in Music Performance (Guitar) and Music Education (Undergrad and Master's) have introduced me to techniques that help translate general music studies, such as History, Styles, Counterpoint, etc. as well as to incorporate instruments to topics such as beat, tempo, meter, timbre, pitch, etc.

Guitar

I hold a degree in classical guitar from Coastal Carolina University, where I have studied, and excelled in different styles such as jazz, baroque, classical, pop, rock, and many others. I have vast experience playing/performing with finger style techniques, as well as with a plectrum. I have been playing guitar for 15 years, 7 of which have been professionally.

Sight Singing

Having studied the Kodaly technique, use of solfa and hand signs have proved extremely effective in the study of sight singing. I have experience teaching master chorales all over North America using such techniques, and to a vast age group.

Voice (Music)

I have vocally trained 3 "America's Got Talent" contestants, 2 "American Idol" contestants, and various Master Chorales all over North America. I have studied under Dr. Daniel Koch, Dr. Patty Edwards and Dr. Sinclair in different techniques and styles of voice, such as opera, romantic, etc. as well as diction training in Italian, French, German, Spanish, and more.
