I am experienced in one-on-one and group tutoring for middle school up to college graduate students. My experience includes offering private lessons in algebra, geometry, and calculus to high school students as well as teaching college level engineering courses related to analog and power electronics circuit design. I have over 14 years of experience at IBM, where I have established design guides and taught related classes. Furthermore, I have just completed my PhD in Electrical Engineering from North Carolina State University (NCSU). At NCSU, I was employed as a Teacher Assistant, focusing on principle of electrical engineering, analog and power electronics (to include magnetics, transformers, circuits, etc.) courses.
I enjoy tutoring and take pride in strengthening the educational skills of my students. I believe that, in most cases, appropriate attitude is the driver behind effective teaching as well as fruitful learning. If more than one student at a time, the rate would be $44/hr. Each 10 one hour lessons, the student would get one hour free.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
