I am a married father of 4 children (who are currently students in High School, College, and a commissioned officer in the U.S. Navy). For over two decades I have tutored and mentored hundreds of students ranging in age from 7 to 82, elementary school students to PhDs and professionals. Online tutoring has enabled me to help students from 45 U.S. states, and several foreign countries.

I graduated summa cum laude from Duke University with straight A's in Math, Computer Science and Engineering classes, but more importantly, I have helped many students improve their test scores and course grades by multiple letters (for example from F to B, from C to A, etc.). Many of my AP Computer Science students have earned a 5 (top score) on the AP exam.

Helping you (or your daughter or son) succeed is the reason why I tutor. I get great personal enjoyment and fulfillment helping students of any age overcome their challenges and reach their goals.

Your success is important to me, and I look forward to helping you.

Knowledgable and great at explaining code.

Bob helped with intermediate Java programming. He hit the ground running and knew instantly where I needed help. He explained every aspect of the code in detail. I could not ask for a better tutor.

Very good explanations and lesson plans

Bob did a great job explaining the basics of coding, as well as his plan to work with me to build a skill set in python. I have no prior experience in coding, but I found his descriptions very easy to understand. He also made the subject very engaging. I look forward to continuing to work with Bob.

Knowledgeable, Kind, Easygoing. Greatly Helped in Understanding the Basics.

Bob is the definition of the phrase "give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime." I reached out to Bob a few days before my final. A majority of my understanding of the basic concepts were only partial/halfway, and Bob explained those concepts in an easy to understand way. By strengthening my understanding of the basics, Bob allowed me to be able to work through review problems on my own. He will, of course, also go over any additional problems you face when going through those problems! Great tutor overall!

Knowledgeable, patient.

I had some questions about ArrayLists, sets, and maps. He knew understood what I needed, was to the point and helped me to understand. He didn't waste time. I was glad I choose him as my tutor.

Stick with Bob

Bob can easily jump right into any assignment or touch on any concept. He uses real world examples and breaks things down so they’re easy to understand. Don’t waste your time looking into other tutors. Bob is patient, helpful, and extremely knowledgeable. I wish I reached out sooner in the semester, but we’re quickly getting me back up to speed. Thanks, Bob!

Awesome, Easy Analogies for Java

Bob was very patient and open to going at my speed. After discussing new information, he would summarize it before moving on to new topics. I mentioned that I was having some trouble learning some concepts and Bob quickly came up with real world examples of how these concepts are used. He helps students understand the foundations and was able to jump right in to help explain an assignment I was working on. Bob provided direction to materials I can use now and in the future.
